Broomfield Park was home to Airdrieonians FC from 1882 until 1994 when the ground was sold and replaced by a super market. Sadly the club folded after the 2001-2002 season only four seasons at their new stadium following a four year groundshare with Clyde. Record attendance at Broomfield park was over 24,000 for a Scottish Cup match against Hearts. The ground also had a small pavilion at the north-west corner of the pitch.
